Satisfaction: Perspectives from Five European Countries
Behaviors of Participants Regarding Leisure Time
In this section, the personal information of the lecturers participating in the research about their spare
time in the urban environment and the findings of how they evaluate their spare time are given.
Table 2. Distribution of Participants on How They Usually Evaluate Their Leisure Time
When the data in Table 2 are examined, it is understood that a little more than half of the participants,
52.9%, spend their free time "frequently" with indoor activities, whereas only 10% of them do not spend
their free time "never" at home. In addition, the rate of participants stating that they "frequently"
participate in physical activities in their free time is 39.4%, the rate of participating in social activities is
36.5%, and the rate of participating in cultural-artistic activities is 19.5%. Nearly half of the participants
reported that they "sometimes" participate in outdoor activities (51.3%) and touristic activities (51.0%).
